Environmental Policy and Sustainable Universities
Our Mission:   To provide awareness of environmental science and policy to undergraduate and graduate students and act as a catalyst for education, research and public service activities throughout the University by providing relevant interactions among students, faculty and staff.

The Environmental Science and Policy Program administers the undergraduate environmental science and policy minor and offers a majority of courses related to the program as well as in cooperation with academic departments. The Prime Lands Initiative of this program examines existing patterns of agriculture, forest and open space lands in South Carolina associated with area growth and development patterns. The program also sponsors an Environmental Policy Forum each semester. The Forum acquaints faculty with the individuals who make environmental policy in South Carolina.

Prime Lands Initiative

Sustainable Universities Initiative
Clemson University is responsible for the use of considerable amounts of energy and materials and for significant effects on the environment. As individuals and as a university, we have a responsibility to promote environmental stewardship on campus. Environmental awareness is not new to campus, but we need to be asking more of the right questions, seeking the relevant information and implementing the appropriate programs. Revitalization of the Clemson University Environmental Committee will enable the development and coordination of the information necessary to initiate a continuing process of self-examination and improvement by Clemson University on environmental issues.
